Random Ramble

hello negative
I didn't have to drag myself awake this morning. Woo. -.- The last week or so, the radio came on and slid into my dreams, leaving me somewhere between awake and asleep. But today it actually jerked me awake, like it used to, and I was actually downstairs by five past, and was actually eating breakfast by twenty past. Might have been faster, but I was delayed by the carpet getting stuck beneath the study door again and having to find the scissors to cut off the accumulated lump.

Watched The Bourne Supremacy yesterday. Mum didn't think it was as good as the first one. I don't know. I enjoyed it anyway, so. They say the first one in a trilogy is always the best, don't they?

What's the best concert you've ever been to?

I've only ever been to one, so that would have to be it. x3 The Feeling in Manchester, 2006. The Fray opened for them, which was a bonus.

Aang & Chrno

Cross-hatched love <3
So my sister introduced me to Avatar: The Last Airbender yesterday. It's brilliant. =D (And since we were on her computer, we didn't have to wait ten minutes for it to buffer) We watched the first two eps, then went looking for something else. It was then I mentioned having recently watched the first episode of Chrono Crusade, and having not understood what they were saying half the time since they were always darn screaming...! The solution to that was to watch the original version, with english subs. So we watched the first two of that, too. Chrno is cute, and strange, and vunerable, and why do I always like the good werewolves and vampires and things? It's the underdog thing I suppose. They never win. =3 I've got to make a userpic of Chrno, if I can find a good picture (by good I mean not fuzzy).

I made this icon yesterday, but I think it needs some improvement. Perhaps the words should be in red. What does thou think?

We're supposed to be going to Llandudno this morning, but 1) it is absolutely horrible out and 2) the boiler-man's here, since yesterday we stopped getting hot water for a bit and the boiler has a leak. Good thing we have an electric shower, I say.

The Inkworld

It's hard thinking of things to say, when all that's on my mind is stuff I don't want to talk about. I guess I'm not the only one. Probably, other people don't say they have stuff they don't want to say. They just don't say it, and save people the worry. But thou knows I'm too talkative.

Fortunately I've a good book to bury myself in. It's called Inkspell, and is the second in the Inkworld Trilogy by Cornelia Funke. Apparently the original name, Tintenblut (German) actually translates as Inkblood. Which, according to whoever wrote the Wikipedia article, is more appropriate.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inkspell

Whoever changed the name probably thought Inkblood was a little overstating on the blood and gore front. I think Inkspell works just as well theme-wise, so no complaints from me. (Though if thee'd like me to talk about inappropriate renaming, just say The Golden Compass. ;3)

Can I be Chazzed?
'Ah... I can hear you. You might want to think without speaking next time.' -- Evil Psychopathic Alien.

Sartorius' possessor says some brilliant things sometimes. There was something else he said, before, but I can't remember it. *headdesk* It cracked me up, just like the above did. Make plans in thy head, Jaden, thee dolt! Or Judai. Hmm. *goes to find out what Sartorius' original name is* ... Takuma. Ooh, nice. I mean, assuming it's not Saiou? Thee can tell I know nothing about the Japanese language, can't thee.

I now officially love the autosave. My silly computer just froze up and I had to restart, and I came back on here expecting to have to write my ramble again, but no. Can I have an A, a U, a T, a --

Okay, CUT! Before I embarrass myself. Goodbye.

Do you like being behind the camera or in front of the camera?

Behind. I wouldn't say I was the most camera-shy, not as much as I used to be, but I still enjoy taking the photos more than being in them.

Describe your favorite photograph.

I'm not sure about THE favourite, but one that springs to mind is of... oh, when I was pretty young, maybe six or something, and my sister and brother and I were at our dad's house. In the picture the four of us are sitting outisde, in a row on this old mattress leaning half against the wall. It was in an L shape from us sitting on it, i.e. chair-shaped. I think we were even seated in order of height, if I remember correctly. I don't actually have the picture on the computer, I don't think... will have to get Dad to sent it me.

Okay, so I've uploaded a couple of fuzzy userpics, joined a community or two, and answered today's Writer's Block question. I must be bored.

It is cold but bright out, which is good (better than rain) because we're supposed to be going Geocaching today. Note to self: add 'Geocaching' to interest list. Geocaching, for those who don't know, is a kind of treasure-hunt game. You get a GPS, punch some coordinates in from whichever GCing site you belong to, and follow the signal to Ground Zero, where you hunt for the hidden lunchbox or whatever. There's a bit more to it than that, so if thee want to know more wield thy search engine and search for 'geocaching'.

It can be quite addictive fun. Though I haven't done much recently, because 1) my usual GCing partner has been unwell and 2) it's freezing out. Oh yeah. Will be wrapping up well this afternoon. Toodles for now, I'm off to watch some more Yu-Gi-Oh GX.

Edit: I made a new userpic (the one with the blue and green squares to match this theme) and after some fiddling worked out how to stop the image going fuzzy when I upload it. The magic word: compression. Some computer person is laughing at me, I'm sure.

How's that New Year's resolution going?

They are going nowhere thus far. But I'm not worried. I've still got 359 days to do them in.

If you could cook for one person, who would it be and what would you serve?

If I knew how, I'd cook something nice for Cas and my mum, since they've been doing all the cooking for years. I suppose I'd have to take a look through some books... can't think what they both like in particular.

Okay, nice fresh start with this Journal. Maybe I'll actually post more.

For now though, I have to say, those of you who know nothing of a certain site called Neopets.com will have no clue what I'm talking about today. Sorreh.

My NT submission was held over. Yay - maybe. I saw the neomail, and, well, it's been a while since I tried for it and I had completely forgotten they almost always hold my submissions over for a week before accepting/rejecting them. So here I was, staring at the screen, getting all excited, only to see this:

'Thank you for submitting to the Neopian Times. Currently your submission (How to Make Good Screenshots) is being held over and may be considered for future publication in the Neopian Times. There is no need to submit your submission again, as it is saved by the editor.' Thankee you. *sigh* All we can do is wait. Good day to thee.
